Final Meeting of the Erasmus+ Small scale Partnership on VET TRAINING IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRICIAN PROFESSIONS Concludes in Łomża, Poland
On October 18th and 19th, 2023, the final meeting of the Erasmus+ Small scale Partnership on VET TRAINING IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRICIAN PROFESSIONS Concludes took place in Łomża, Poland, marking the successful conclusion of this ambitious Erasmus+ initiative. The project brought together partners from Poland, Germany, and Greece to address the critical need for specialists in two key professions: electricians and IT specialists, essential for Europe’s energy transformation and digital future.
During the final meeting, project results were presented, highlighting the progress made in promoting Vocational Education and Training (VET) in these fields. Partners shared insights into how they have worked to increase the attractiveness of these professions and the importance of VET education in response to the EU’s digital and energy transformation challenges.
Key discussions focused on the following outcomes:
- Exchange of Innovative Practices: Partners shared successful strategies for making IT and electrical engineering more appealing career choices and enhancing cross-sector cooperation in VET.
- Strengthening VET-Education-Employment Connections: The consortium discussed methods to better align educational curricula with labor market needs, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the workforce.
- Inclusion of People with Fewer Opportunities: The project also emphasized ensuring that individuals from underrepresented groups are given access to training and employment opportunities in these growing fields.
As part of the final discussions, partners reflected on the impact of their collaboration and identified future steps to ensure that the solutions developed during the project continue to be applied in everyday practices. This includes ongoing transnational cooperation to adapt education and training in IT and electrical engineering to meet the increasing demands for specialists in Europe’s energy-neutral future.
The partnership has successfully created a forum for cooperation, fostering the exchange of ideas and good practices that will benefit VET education and the broader workforce development efforts in these key sectors.
This final meeting in Łomża marked the conclusion of a collaborative and impactful project, but the partnerships and innovations forged will continue to contribute to Europe’s energy and digital transformation long after the project’s formal end.
